Ticket System Revised For Inter-state Fair - July 07, 2010

The Inter-State Fair and Rodeo has made another move into the electronic world.

Last year was the first time tickets for the annual event in Coffeyville could be purchased online.

This year, fair goers can not only purchase their tickets online, but can print the tickets themselves.

"This is new for us this year," said committee member and ticket chairman Janie Houston. "People can buy their ticket online and then print them."

Tickets can be printed onto regular paper; they will have a USP code that will be scanned at the gate.

For fun passes, which allow the bearer into all eight nights of the Inter-States’ entertainment, the pass can be used every night. "It's one ticket but it will re-set every night so the person can use the same sheet," Houston explained.

"What's nice about it is that if your ticket wears out after three days or gets sweaty or torn, you can reprint it at home."

The change in tickets will allow the fair committee to keep better records. "We'll have more detailed records and a more accurate headcount," she said.

This year's Inter-State Fair and Rodeo takes place at Walter Johnson Park August 7-14. Each night features major entertainment. August 7 is the Music Fest, featuring Jamey Johnson, Stoney LaRue, Jackson Taylor and the Sinners, and the Jason Savory Band. August 8 is the ranch rodeo. August 9 features the Freestyle Motocross, and August 10 is the demo derby. The PRCA rodeo takes place each night, August 11-14.
