Are You Tough Enough to Wear Pink? - July 22, 2010
Rodeo organizers at the Inter-State Fair and Rodeo in Coffeyville hope to pack in the pink.
For the fifth year, the second night of rodeo on August 12 will be Tough Enough to Wear Pink night at the Inter-State Rodeo.
The campaign hopes to raise awareness of breast cancer, and rodeo fans and fair goers can drop their “pink night” donations into the pink cans located throughout the fairgrounds. Funds raised will go to breast cancer research at the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Fans, cowboys and cowgirls and grand entry riders are asked to wear pink to the rodeo that night.
Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, the presenting sponsor of the August 12 rodeo, will give water bottles emblazoned with the Tough Enough to Wear Pink logo to rodeo fans. They will also use their VIP seating for cancer patients and nurses, to give those people an opportunity to enjoy the rodeo.
The rodeo begins at 7:30 pm and continues August 13-14.
