Don't Forget to Wear Your Pink!
Don't wimp out - prove you are TOUGH ENOUGH TO WEAR PINK!
For the eighth year, the second night of rodeo on August 15 will be Tough Enough to Wear Pink night at the Inter-State Rodeo. The campaign hopes to raise awareness of breast cancer, and rodeo fans and fair goers can drop their “pink night” donations into the pink cans located throughout the fairgrounds. Funds raised will go to breast cancer research at the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Fans, cowboys and cowgirls and grand entry riders are asked to wear pink to the rodeo that night.

PRCA Sanctioned Rodeo
The Inter-State Rodeo is one of 650 sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), and the rodeo continues to grow thanks to the support and cooperation of local and national businesses. Located in the PRCA's Prairie Circuit, we are co-sanctioned again this year with the Great Lakes Circuit and the Southeast Circuit, drawing contestants from across circuit lines as they compete to qualify for full membership in the PRCA.
Each evening will feature contests in all events:
- Bareback Bronc Riding
- Saddle Bronc Riding
- Bull Riding
- Steer Wrestling
- Tie Down Roping
- Team Roping
- Single Steer Roping
- Girls Barrel Racing
- Mutton Bustin'
This entertaining event is just for the youngen's. Buckaroos aged 5 - 7 years and not over 50 lbs can try their hand at a real rodeo event. Riders can use one or two hands and try to stay on the sheep for six seconds to receive points.
The Inter-State Rodeo Committee consists of local people who begin their work a year in advance to secure the best livestock, contract acts, clowns and bull fighters, negotiate agreements with sponsors, earn PRCA and WPRA sanctioning, and make physical improvements to the arena facilities. Their reward is the satisfaction of knowing they produced a first-class rodeo that was appreciated by you and the contestants.
The Inter-State Rodeo Committee and the PRCA are committed to maintaining the highest standards in the industry. That commitment ensures that the Inter-State Rodeo and every PRCA sanctioned event is managed with fairness and competence, and that the livestock used is healthy and cared for to the highest standards.
